OUR SERVICES

Below are details about our services for you to take a look at in more detail.

Sound reduction

There are many ways to try and cancel the sound coming form outside into your property. but the best and most effective is to install secondary glazing, our tried and tested system involves us upgrading the glass to a 6.4 mm acoustic laminated glass, this is made up of 2 pieces of 3 mm glass sandwiched together with a .4 mm membrane or technically known as a  poly vinly butrayl interlayer.  The ideal cavity is around 200mm this would give you the best chance in cancelling around 70 to 90% of the sound that you can hear coming into your property. This works by reverberating the sound around the cavity and then it hitting the acoustic glass taking out the power of the sound waves.  We can fit this glass into any of our secondary glazed units and we also use an acoustic sealant around the edges of your frames.
Benefits
Advantages of sound proof windows: Creates more peaceful interiors by reducing noise pollution from air, train and road traffic, general street noise and noisy neighbours.
Is also effective at keeping sound in where confidentiality or consideration to neighbours is required.
Is a safety glass and can be used in safety critical locations.
Can be manufactured to provide enhanced security. If broken through vandalism, the glass remains adhered to the interlayer, hindering breakage through the glazing.
The interlayer filters up to 99% of UV radiation, therefore, the use of laminated glass in Secondary glazing helps slow the fading of furnishings.
Don't delay get a good nights sleep sooner rather than later.

Thermal insulation

Secondary glazing is excellent for thermal insulation. It was originally designed to keep the cold and the dirt out of your home. After fitting, the thermal insulation of your windows could save you around 10% on your heating bills if not more. It is cost effective on installation and saving you money long term from day one! It is one of the only alternatives if you live in a conservation area or listed building and cannot change your existing windows.

As with sound proofing we can upgrade the glass to a low E glass (low emissivity).  This is a modern glass that helps to reflect the heat back in the room in the winter and to stop the suns ray radiating through in the summer.   So this helps to keep the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and again saving you money on heating your home if the low E glass is used your secondary glazing should have a u value similar to standard double glazing around 1.9 W/m2k.

Benefits
Improves thermal insulation as well as eliminate draughts. Our glazing can improve thermal performance by up to 60%.
Proven to help with reducing CONDENSATION
Will help make your home more energy efficient and help save you money on your fuel bills. The cost of heating homes or building is rising all the time, so the sooner you fit secondary glazing, the sooner you can benefit.
Helps meet the standards set in Part L of the Building Regulations.
Does not change the character of the facade and so is ideal for listed buildings or those in conservation areas.
EPC's will be a big part of selling houses and our glazing will help with this.

All our products have been wind tested to meet the British Standards

Give us a call for a chat about your project or to book us to take a look and give our best advise all completely free of charge. We work closely with local councils if needed to provide as much information about your listed building on your behalf as they need which can include drawings, attending site visits and general liaison with the planning officers.
A listed building in the United Kingdom is a building that has been placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.

A listed building may not be demolished, extended or altered without special permission from the local planning authority (which typically consults the relevant central government agency, particularly for significant alterations to the more notable listed buildings). Exemption from secular listed building control is provided for some buildings in current use for worship but only in cases where the relevant religious organisation operates its own equivalent permissions procedure. Owners of listed buildings are, in some circumstances, compelled to repair and maintain them and can face criminal prosecution if they fail to do so or if they perform unauthorised alterations.
