Secondary Glazing can be used for many reason but below are some of the more common areas
Thermal Insulation:
The best way to getting maximum heat retainment is to use a low E glass or K glass in the unit of choice this helps to reflect the heat created in your property back in thus saving you money on costly heating bills.
Sound reduction:
When fitting secondary glazing for sound reduction we use a 6.4 mm acoustic laminated glass and try and create as much of a gap between the primary window and the secondary glazing as possible this with our unique installation methods ensures that you get as much sound proofing form the secondary glazing as possible.
Condensation:
In incorporation with thermal insulation by creating a barrier between the warm air inside and the cold air outside you should eradicate the build up of moisture on the glass units.
Added Security:
By Using a laminated glass if a burglar was to try and smash the secondary glazed unit the glass would just spider and not fall out, much like a car windscreen does when that is smashed thus preventing unwanted intruders access to your property.
